An evening of analogue experiences featuring up to twenty one of a kind wet plate collodion tintypes and five 16mm short films by Julie Orlick. Julie is a director, analogue/alternative photographer and 16mm surrealist film maker currently working & living in Brooklyn, NY.
The selected new tintype work was hand processed, developed and shot in Brooklyn featuring visual artists and creative weirdos that inhabit New York city's art scene. The work featured in this show have not been released elsewhere. Julie's tintype photography explores the vintage style of the 1900's-1930's, double & triple exposures & erotica.
Five 16mm short films will be premiered at 9pm on a live 16mm film projector. All films were shot on a 16mm Bolex H16 Rex-5, hand spliced, edited and directed by Julie Orlick from 2014-2016. They have not been digitized or released elsewhere. The selected films explore floral landscapes, in-camera edits, double exposures, the surreal experience, lust for love, confusion and wonder.
