Learn the roots and basic techniques of two-dimensional paper cutout animation! Students will practice the fundamentals of animation, work to storyboard paper characters for multi-plane animation, and ultimately create their own short film. We will cover a range of techniques, as well as provide information for constructing a simple animation set up in your own apartment or studio. Students will be given private access to the instructor’s animation stand to shoot their work on color 16mm film. Finished projects will be presented after the conclusion of the course at our student screening. All equipment and materials will be provided for.
