2-D ANIMATION : CUTOUT & HAND DRAWN TECHNIQUES
5 sessions + Screening Party
Learn the roots and basic techniques of two-dimensional paper cut-out and hand drawn animation! Participants will practice the fundamentals of animation, work to storyboard paper characters for animation, and ultimately create their own short film. We will cover a range of techniques and lead each participant through the functions of the Oxberry Animation Stand. MONO will also provide information for constructing a simple animation set up in your own apartment or studio. Participants will be given private access to the animation stand to shoot their work on color 16mm film. Finished projects will be presented after the conclusion of the course at a special premiere screening at Anthology Film Archives. All equipment and materials will be provided for.
