BOLEX D8MM CAMERA TO CREATE A FOUR-CHANNEL 16MM FILM FOR PROJECTION!
CAPTURE MOVING IMAGES ON D8MM EKTACHROME FILM STOCK WITH THE BOLEX D8MM CAMERA, D-MOUNT LENSES WITH THE INTENTION OF DEVELOPING AS EKTACHROME AND PROJECTING AS A FOUR CHANNEL 16MM FILM!
Sold in 25’ increments as double perforated 16mm film, the Double 8mm format or “D8” has a unique work flow which requires the lab to slit the film in half after development and splice it back together to create the smaller gauge of Regular 8mm. In this workshop you will learn to operate the Bolex D8MM camera, D-mount prime lenses, and the frame counter to carefully plan out both sides of the film and create 4 frames in conversation. We’ll subvert the intended workflow by developing not splitting the film and project 4 separate quadrants simultaneously as if the film was Regular 16MM. Really three workshops in one covering the Bolex camera, prime lenses, The D8MM format, Chemistry, and Projection.
