PROJECTION BASICS FOR 16MM FILM: TABLE TOP MODELS

LEARN THE BASICS OF MOTION PICTURE FILM PROJECTION

In this workshop participants will be introduced to the basic principles of table top projection on an EIKI SSL-O projector.  Once we cover the basic functions, you'll learn about the pros and cons of different models, how to adjust image size, gauge throw distance, replace bulbs, set your reflector alignment, everything you need to know to own, maintain and operate a table top 16mm projector with confidence AND a few tricks for small loops and performative techniques. Purchase a new projector recently? Bring it to the workshop! we’ll use it as the demo for how to clean and test a newly acquired projector. A great entry into the world of independent and theatrical projection.

And you will have access to the following books related the workshop from Mono No Aware’s own reference library:

  • Art of Projection by Stan Douglas and Christopher Eamon, eds.

  • Screens: Viewing Media Installation Art by Kate Mondloch
