TRADITIONAL 2D ANIMATION TECHNIQUES: CUTOUT & HAND DRAWN & MULTIPLANE

5 sessions + Screening Party

Learn the techniques of two-dimensional paper cut-out, hand drawn and multi-plane animation! Participants will practice the fundamentals of animation, work to storyboard paper characters or abstractions and ultimately create their own short sequence on 16mm film. We will cover a range of techniques to lead each participant through the functions of the Oxberry Animation Camera and Stand. MONO will also provide information for constructing a simple animation set up in your own apartment or studio. Participants will be given private access to the animation stand to shoot their work on color 16mm film. Finished projects will be presented after the conclusion of the course at a special premiere screening at a theater TBA. All equipment and materials will be provided for.
