3-D STOP-MOTION PUPPET ANIMATION CAPTURED ON 16MM FILM

LEARN TO BUILD AND ANIMATE YOUR OWN STOP-MOTION PUPPET IN 6 SESSIONS + PRESENT YOUR FILM AT OUR SCREENING PARTY

Learn to build and animate your own 3-D stop-motion puppet! In this workshop participants will learn how to create their own stop-motion animation short on 16mm film using puppets made by hand. We will begin by constructing skeletal armatures for our puppets, layer them with foam and other materials to give them a recognizable form, then choreograph movement one frame at a time. Participants will walk away with hands on experience of stop-motion puppet animation, a copy of the finished film work and the knowledge to continue to work independently. All materials will be provided for, but participants will be encouraged to develop their puppets with materials at home.

INCLUDES:  5 classroom instruction sessions, PLUS a private 2 hour capture session, Animation table, Access to the Bolex Rex-5 camera and animation motor, 16 mm color film, film processing and work-print by ColorLab, access to equipment, and 16mm projector, all puppet building materials (metal wire, wood, fabrics, felts, foam, latex and more), informational course packet, HD video transfer of finished film, online hosting of finished film.
