TIME LAPSE ON 16MM WITH THE USE OF THE INTERVALOMETER

Learn to capture beautiful time lapse sequences with the use of an external intervalometer and the Bolex camera. Gain a working knowledge of the equipment and the necessary math to calculate proper exposure. Shrink time from an entire 24 hour day into minutes or a full week into seconds. Blur fast movements into abstract light. We’ll cover the different models and options on each device necessary to capture time, lapsed. Participants will all meet to learn how to build the time lapse kit, how to calculate the duration of time between frames, the duration of exposure per frame, and how to select the appropriate film stock . Then you will take out the kit for a full two weeks to execute your idea on film. You’ll finish with a finished projection ready print, the knowledge to continue to work in this practice at home, and a list of venues to pursue for exhibition after your premiere screening in Manhattan. All materials will be provided.

MONDAY MAY 4TH FROM 7-10 PM + 2-WEEK RENTAL SESSION - Learn to build the camera, lens options, mount the time lapse motor and calculate exposure settings.
