Chasm by Meredith Moore

Meredith Moore is a Baltimore based artist and filmmaker. Her work has been shown at various film festivals and venues around the world including Anthology Film Archives, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Athens International Film Festival, London’s Roundhouse, Maryland Film Festival, Cucalorus Film Festival, Seattle Transmedia & International Film Festival, Washington Project for the Arts, and The Walters Art Museum. In addition, Meredith is a professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art in the Film & Video Department as well as the Digital Curation and Audiovisual Archives Specialist as part of the Digital Initiatives Unit at Decker Library.

With this series we ask that each presenting artist identify a non-profit they wish to bring attention to and support through this screening. Meredith has selected the American Civil Liberties Union. The ACLU dares to create a more perfect union — beyond one person, party, or side. Their mission is to realize this promise of the United States Constitution for all and expand the reach of its guarantees. For nearly one hundred years, ACLU lawyers have been at the center of one history-making court case after another, participating in more Supreme Court cases than any other private organization. With attorneys nationwide, they handle thousands of cases each year on behalf of clients whose rights have been violated.

Please consider making a donation to support.

MONO NO AWARE OPEN AIR SCREENING SERIES:
The OPEN AIR SCREENING SERIES allows for 16mm film projection viewing with social and physical distance guidelines in place. 16mm film prints are projected, on loop, from dusk until dawn. Each artist receives an honorarium from MONO to support their practice. Each artist is asked to select a non-profit for a portion of the proceeds to benefit, to which MONO will make a donation in their name. And, YOU the audience are invited to enjoy the work, take part in the conversation and we ask that you consider making a donation as it directly supports the artist and the organization with which they share concern.
