PROGRAM:
DOM/HOME invokes a meditative journey aimed at a reflection on humanity’s relation with nature, led by World-renowned polar explorers and ski-alpinists. The motif of sound and the images of nature coexist with the thoughts of the explorers, examining the eternal, dynamic relation between our planet and its inhabitants, offering a poetic perspective on the role of nature in our lives.

DOM/HOME, 2024
Filmed in
Poland and the Netherlands on Digital & 16mm (mixed media) DCP 2K, 25fps, stereo / 5.1 sound

The film DOM/HOME is a meditative exploration of how stillness and sound shape our understanding of nature and the self. Rather than documenting acts of endurance or achievement, the film listens -to the hum of silence, the crack of ice, and the breath that connects body to landscape. Each frame invites a slower rhythm, one that mirrors the interior quiet we often overlook in the rush of life. Through this sensory experience, we seek to restore attention and presence as forms of care.

Total running time for the PROGRAM: 15 minutes

MONO NO AWARE SCREENING SERIES:
The CONNECTIVITY THROUGH CINEMA series will present the work of artists, film-makers and curators who are traveling or presenting special interactive programs in-person. Our hope is to engage the community by showing work with a focus on post-screening discussion. This series is made possible by support from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).
