INTRO TO 16MM COLOR FILM MAKING
LEARN TO SHOOT ON COLOR NEGATIVE AND EDIT YOUR WORK PRINT IN 5 SESSIONS + PRESENT YOUR FILM AT OUR SCREENING PARTY
In this workshop participants will learn how to make a 16mm film from start to finish. Curriculum covers camera options, color negative film stock choices, exposure, lenses, filters, you'll also learn how to load, focus, run, maintain and operate the H16 Bolex Reflex camera. Participants will spend one day shooting, then meet again to view the work-print to talk about editing options and presentation. The goal is to create and project a short color film on 16mm which you conceived, directed, shot, splice edited, and project independently. We will also discuss how to promote your short piece through a list of friendly film festivals and community venues in the greater New York area. All materials will be provided for.
